Medical Fitness
Medical Fitness is a health concept developed by doctors, therapists and scientists - individually tailored to the very specific situation of the individual. The aim of the program is to maintain and optimize physical performance and general well-being into old age. Endurance, coordination, mobility and strength are the cornerstones. Get active on our 290 m² medical fitness level. This is equipped with modern training machines. Specialist staff will look after you during your workout.

If you should not train in nature, a variety of training options with state-of-the-art equipment for endurance, strength, flexibility and coordination training are available to you in a bright GesundKunft® room of approx. 290 m² with a panoramic view. Take your time for the well-designed, easily accessible, efficient and effective training with us at the resort. Actively relax and feel good.

General fitness

  • Moving into the day: Provides an optimal start to the day. Mobilization, stabilization and gentle strengthening exercises activate your body, while balance and coordination exercises awaken your mind.
  • Body toning: targeted exercises for your arms, legs, stomach and buttocks will make your body more defined and toned.
  • Pilates: this holistic training method teaches you to economize your strength, centre yourself and develop a powerful core. Flowing movements with calm breathing and mental control enable smooth movement of all joints. This strengthens the deep trunk-stabilizing muscles in particular
  • Terrain training (outdoor): Your cardiovascular system is stimulated while your mind can recharge its batteries in the great outdoors. Endurance training is combined with stability and coordination exercises and supplemented by strengthening and stretching exercises.
  • Aqua Fitness: In our “SchwimmInsLand” pool, effective exercises are performed in the water to promote endurance, strength and flexibility. The resistance of the water makes the training particularly easy on the joints and intensive at the same time. From April’25, depending on the weather
  • Back fitness: Functional training improves posture, flexibility and stability to prevent back problems and counteract existing tension.   
  • Nordic Walking: A course that combines endurance training and strengthening in the fresh air. Enjoy the peace and beauty of the surroundings of Horben and be inspired by the picturesque landscapes. From March’25, depending on the weather
  • Hike: During a two-hour hike, you will discover the idyllic surroundings of the Luisenhöhe and enjoy impressive views of Freiburg, the Kaiserstuhl and the French Vosges mountains. From March’25, depending on the weather

Relaxation, loosening & mobility

  • Fascia training: Targeted exercises and the use of fascia tools promote the properties of the connective tissue and loosen adhesions. This makes your tissue more supple and can release tension.
  • Morning Mobility: A perfect start to the day with gentle mobilization of your whole body.
  • Mobility & Stretch: mobility and stretching exercises to make your body feel pleasantly supple.
  • Stretch & Relax: Targeted stretching exercises ensure that your body can relax. Mindful awareness of relaxation also allows your mind to calm down.
  • Yoga flow: Gentle, flowing exercises from yoga loosen and strengthen your body, while your mindfulness and body awareness are trained and you achieve deep relaxation.
  • Pilates x Yoga: A combination of the calming elements of yoga with the invigorating precision of Pilates. In this dynamic class, flowing yoga poses come together with controlled Pilates exercises to promote flexibility, strength and body awareness.
  • Yoga meets mobility: a combination of relaxing elements of yoga with targeted mobility exercises that promote flexibility and mobility in the body. Ideal for anyone who wants to increase their flexibility and strengthen their muscles in a gentle way.
  • Relaxation training: Participants learn various techniques for stress management and deep relaxation. Breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation and mindfulness practices are used to calm the body and focus the mind.

Strength

  • Core Fitness: Targeted exercises for the abdomen and back that strengthen the deep torso-stabilizing muscles in particular, thus ensuring a stable, powerful and defined core.
  • Functional fitness: Experience how you can use your body weight to create intensive and varied strength training. Increase your physical performance and develop noticeably more muscle strength and resilience.
  • HIIT: A high-intensity full-body workout that is sure to make you sweat and put you in a good mood by releasing happiness hormones. This interval training increases your endurance and strength in particular.
  • CircuitFit on the equipment circuit: Circuit training on our equipment circuit strengthens and stretches your body at the same time, bringing it back into balance.

*Our course program changes monthly so that our guests can enjoy as much variety as possible. Our courses take place outdoors, depending on the weather and availability.
